Nov. 6 "How did I improve my spanish in Ecuador?"
November 6
Emily. How lovely you are. You must be so much grown up since I’ve seen you there.
I hope that I can visit you before your 16 years birthday.
Today, my friend from New York, US asked me this on the facebook:
Tenes unas recomendaciones? Besotes!!! ojala que estes divertiendose en espana!
Tell me something… how did you arrage your time in Ecuador? My company of room is thinking to go to spanish-speaking country for 3 months (more or less) in order to improve his spanish. Do you have some recommendation? Kisses! Hoping you enjoy in Spain!
I haven’t thought about this before. I did improve my spanish a lot in Ecuador but I didn’t think that I’m good enough to recommend my way to others. But I know that my friend is not asking me of the perfect counselling that I recalled my experience to try to give some tips.
In the end, I really liked my answer. hahahaha So I don’t wanna let my answer be somewhere down on Facebook timeline to be forgetten that I’m writing it here.
My answer was :
Y cosa ultima. tú, Lynn, tienes mucho tambien. 5.
How is going? My spanish got higher a lot in Ecuador for 4 months. I will tell you my secrets. hahaha
In order to learn Spanish a lot for short time,
1. Know nothing of Spanish
2. Don’t have high expectation that you could learn spanish a lot
3. Try to enjoy knowing the country and people there (Especially people) : Chat whatever with the person next to you on the bus even though you don’t need to talk about it. I’ve talked about the same topic with many people as pretending as if each time were the first time to talk. hahahahaha
4. Don’t feel bad although people call you ‘White’,’Chinese (means just asian, no more than that) on the street. Normally there is no racism but curiosity. Answer with the smile like ‘American’
And I will tell you the last thing, which you also have a lot.
5. Always keep your smile or at least little smile on your face. This will help people stay and talk with you. Learning other language, it’s inevitable that we look kinda stupid. hahaha enjoy your life like a baby who doesn’t know anything and has to express all the thoughts and necessities with 50 words that you know.
